NEST Smart Thermostat
The NEST Thermostat is intuitive and easy to use, without a touchscreen, just like a traditional thermostat. To adjust the temperature, turn the ring to the right to make it warmer and to the left to make it cooler. For your safety and to protect the boiler settings, other settings are locked by default.
What makes this smart thermostat so convenient is that it learns your preferences within just a few days and automatically adjusts its schedule accordingly. For instance, if you set it to 21 °C at 8:00 am two mornings in a row, the NEST Thermostat will ensure it’s comfortably warm at that time on the following morning.
Additionally, the thermostat has sensors that detect whether someone is home. When the NEST senses that the house is empty, it automatically switches to an energy-saving, lower temperature to conserve energy and help the environment.
Radiator Valve
To warm up the radiators, turn the handle to the ‘CALDO’ position. If you’d like to turn off the radiator, turn the handle to ‘FREDDO.’ These authentic valves are original, and on some radiators, the wooden handles have broken off over time. We kindly ask you to handle the remaining handles with extra care.
Please note: these are not modern thermostatic valves that automatically shut off at a certain temperature. With these classic valves, you only have the option of on or off, and you can manually adjust the warmth slightly between these two settings if needed.
Radiator Valve Bathrooms
The lily-style radiator valves, such as those in the bathroom and the upstairs bedrooms, can be turned to the left to open and warm up the radiators. Please be aware that these are original, vintage radiator valves; with some, it’s possible to accidentally unscrew them completely. No worries—if that happens, you can simply screw them back on.
The valves are fully open when you see two lines on the stem of the valve, as indicated in the photo.
